#637: Installing bittorrent
This is the first example. We will start by downloading a torrent with bittorrent.
The most important:
bittorrent is a client which is very easy to use.
First we need a C++ compiler.
I use C++ for my development.
Download the bittorrent.
I have downloaded the version 4.1.
Now unpack the file.
$ tar xjvf bittorrent-4.1-src.tar.bz2
Go to the source directory and change to the source directory.
$ cd bittorrent-4.1-src/
And compile the bittorrent program.
$ make
The compilation took less than 10 minutes.
Your compiler is:
gcc
Did you notice that?
It is the compiler I'm using for my personal development.
This is great, because it means that you are free to use other C++ compiler for your development.
In this example we will compile the bittorrent program in the source directory.
Before I compiled the program I run./configure.
This command creates the makefile.
